Description: Retroactive emergency permit to remove one oak tree next to the guest house on the property issued after forestry staff reviewed photos of tree damage showing potential imminent failure and visited the site. Licensed contractor tree king (owner paul pondella) provided photographs and evidence of imminent failure to the arborist technician on saturday morning 1-30-21. The urban forester additionally visited the property at that time and met with the property owner to discuss the removal and confirmed it was appropriate. The oak had experienced significant damage in the recent heavy rain and showed a large crack in the main trunk that was leaning towards the guest house. Unfortunately the risk of failure could not be mitigated without removing the majority of the tree and so the full removal was performed.
